Where Cloudron is ahead

  • A mail server comes with every plan. Keenrig has none.
  • A much larger app catalog with years of use behind it. The Keenrig catalog is small: we add an app only when it passes the same signing checks as the others.
  • A mature product with a large community and plenty of documentation.

Where Keenrig differs

  • No domain needed to start: the admin panel opens on your server IP right after install.
  • A free tier of 3 apps instead of 2, and a cheaper first paid plan when billed yearly.
  • The cloud layer is optional and can be unplugged: your server holds all the state it needs, and apps keep running without us.
  • Room to grow from one server to Docker Swarm and Kubernetes on higher plans.
Recorded on a real server with the previous version of the admin interface; the current interface looks different and a new recording is coming. Nginx was running about 2 seconds after Install.
